  10. Chameleon is a Drawfile utility program. It allows the colours of Drawfiles
  11. to be easily changed.

  14. Operating Instructions
  15. ----------------------

  17. To use Chameleon:
  18.  
  19. 1. Load Chameleon by double clicking the SELECT mouse button on the
  20.    !Chameleon application.
  21.  
  22. 2. Drawfiles can be loaded into Chameleon by dragging them onto the
  23.    Chameleon icon which is on the icon bar.
  24.  
  25. 3. Use the toolbox & menu to select the operation to be performed.
  26.  
  27. 4. Clicking on the picture will apply the current operation to the
  28.    target object(s) on which you click the SELECT mouse button.
  29.  
  30. 5. Clicking on an object with ADJUST will take the colour from the object
  31.    (where you clicked) and use it as the current replacement color.

  33. 6. Double-clicking on a fountain filled object with ADJUST will
  34.    change the current operation to the same fountain fill as the
  35.    object, and the start & end colours will be copied from
  36.    the object.

  39. Outline

  42. The "Outline" button (toolbox third row, second from right):

  44. When the "Outline" button is on, all SELECT and ADJUST clicks will
  45. only apply to the outline of a path object. The outline is also made
  46. "thicker" when you click on it - making it easier to hit.

  49. Fill

  52. The "Fill" button (toolbox third row, on the right):

  54. When the "Fill" button is on, all SELECT and ADJUST clicks will
  55. only apply to the fill of a path object. The outline is also made
  56. "thicker" when you click on it - making it easier to hit objects
  57. which have a transparent fill.
  58. Furthermore, text objects and text areas are selected by their
  59. bounding boxes when the "Fill" button is on.

  63. Keys:

  66. SHIFT     with SELECT or ADJUST      Toggles the "Outline" button's effect.
  67.           with SELECT DRAG           When dragging one end of an arrow,
  68.                                      pressing SHIFT will cause the whole
  69.                                      arrow (both ends) to move together.

  71. CTRL      with SELECT or ADJUST      Toggles the "Fill" button's effect.
  72.           with SELECT DRAG           When dragging one end of an arrow,
  73.                                      pressing CTRL will cause the angle
  74.                                      of the arrow to be limited to 
  75.                                      mulitples of 15 degrees.

  79. ARROW     The arrow keys will move the mouse pointer in steps of one pixel.
  80. KEYS
  81.  
  82. CTRL F2   Closes the current window.
  83.  
  84. F3        Save the current picture.
  85.  
  86. SHIFT F3  Save the current picture as a directory containing four drawfiles,
  87.           one each for the four standard colour separations C,M,Y,K.
  88.  
  89. CTRL F3   Save the current picture as a directory containing one drawfile
  90.           for every colour present (up to 64 separations).
  91.  
  92. F5        Toggle Full view on and off. Note that zooming is not available
  93.           whilst Full view is on.

  95. CTRL F1 or
  96. F6        Toggles the toolbox on and off.
  97.  
  98. F7        Toggle the "lock" on and off. When a window is locked, its picture
  99.           can't be altered by clicking SELECT on it.
  100.  
  101. F8        Undo the last colour change.

  103. F9        Redo the last colour change that was undone.
  104.  
  105. PAGE UP   Zoom in on the point where the mouse pointer is.
  106.  
  107. PAGE DOWN Zoom out from the point where the mouse pointer is.

  109. HOME      Restore the zooming factors to 1:1
