  2. Arcventure III - The Vikings Demo Disc

  5. Loading the software
  6. --------------------

  8. Place the Arcventure III Demo disc in the drive and click the
  9. select button on the floppy disc icon (:0). This will open a
  10. window containing the application !AV3Demo. Move the pointer
  11. over this application and double click the select button.
  12. After a short delay the Arcventure III icon will appear on the
  13. icon bar.

  17. Using the software
  18. ------------------

  20. Arcventure III has been designed to be very simple to use.
  21. Most options are chosen by a single click of the select button.
  22.  
  23. The simplest way to begin the demo adventure is to click the
  24. select (left) button on the Arcventure III icon on the icon bar.
  25.  
  26. During the program, whenever there is a Continue option on the
  27. screen you must click the select button on it, irrespective of
  28. any other buttons which are also visible at the time.

  30. Using the keyboard
  31. ------------------

  33. There are several keys which may be used throughout the program.
  34.  
  35. Function keys:
  36. F1 Sound off
  37. F2 Sound on
  38. Shift key - holding a Shift key speeds up digging, text display,
  39. walking and time line.
  40.  
  41. Expedition only
  42. L - look for special items/information
  43. D - closes any open door adjacent to where you are standing
  44. Home - will confront you with the questions you need to answer
  45. provided you have collected the relevant information.

  55. To leave either the excavation or expedition hold down the Ctrl
  56. key and press the letter Q (Ctrl Q).
