  6. Included in this archive is the distribution release of FormEd v2.87¹.  It
  7. contains the following files :

  10. !!Release :  This release note.
  11. !FormEd   :  FormEd - the window editor.  v2.87¹ (20-Nov-92).
  12. !SysMerge :  The !System merger application by Acorn Computers Ltd.
  13. !System   :  Support !System directory containing :

  15.               MouseFixer   v0.04

  18. This has been released due to popular (sic) demand, or more precisely, the
  19. volume of letters received requesting updates.  Well, here it is.  Dont say
  20. I didnt warn you...
  21.  
  22. A list of improvements made to this version is detailed in the !Updates file
  23. contained within the !FormEd application.  It is usually worth reading.
  24. Further information is contained within FormEd's !Help file - including a
  25. slightly outdated list of bugs.

  27. Some points to be wary of :
  28. ---------------------------

  30. *  FormEd doesn't like vast numbers of outline fonts.  It doesnt have space
  31.    for them.  This will be fixed "real soon now".
  32.  
  33. *  Users with RISCOS 3 may notice some strange things occuring to the
  34.    applications window sizes (NOT the ones created).  Do not fret.  This is
  35.    not serious, and is merely another example of Acorn changing things
  36.    without telling anybody...

  38. *  The "export across windows" icon copy facility will place the icons in
  39.    the same location of the destination window as they were in the original.
  40.    Sorry! - again, fixed "real soon now".

  42. *  The sprite loading/display functions behave oddly on occasions.  This 
  43.    code is part of the last living remnant of Acorn involvement with the
  44.    program, and will be replaced with some more efficient.

  48. FormEd is currently being rewritten from scratch, and a #much# improved
  49. version is expected to surface at Easter '93.  Please wait patiently.
  50. Acorn registered ISVs and dealers who contact us can arrange to have
  51. updates sent to them automatically.  Normal (bog-standard) users can
  52. receive updated versions by sending a first-class SAE, a blank disc, and
  53. a suitable bribe - we will retain them until the next update becomes
  54. available (unless otherwise requested).
