  11. =========
  12. Switch to mode 12 before running AppMaker as I can't be pissed to write a
  13. mode independance routine because this program won't be used very often
  14. anyway. If anyone writes one, please send it back to me and I'll
  15. re-distribute the new copy of the app.

  18. !AppMaker is a RISC OS application designed to make the creation of other
  19. applications easier. Rather than have to prepare and create a separate
  20. !Boot, !Run, !Sprite and !Help file yourself, you just use !AppMaker.

  22. Once loaded, AppMaker opens up a window - as its only a fairly small program
  23. and unlikely to be used more than once in each session, it doesn't reside on
  24. the icon bar. Selecting the Quit option from the menu, or closing the window
  25. kills the application.

  27. To create a new application, enter its name (and a size if you wish to use a
  28. value other than 32K) then drag the application sprite to the desired
  29. directory viewer. The application will be created with own !Boot, !Run,
  30. !Sprites and !Help file. Of course, you can load any of these into !Paint or
  31. !Edit and edit them if you're unhappy with the defaults set up by the
  32. program.

  34. To open an application's directory, double-click on it whilst holding down
  35. the Shift key (try it with !Paint). The obey files can then be loaded (drag
  36. them - don't double click) into !Edit and the Sprite files into !Paint.

  38. Note that if an application contains a !Help text file, this will be
  39. displayed (or loaded into !Edit) when you select the Help option from the
  40. App.'name' filer menu. !Appmaker sets up a default help file giving the name
  41. and version number of the software - it is up to you to fill in instructions
  42. for the end-user.

  47. This program is copyright but you are permitted to copy/modify the program
  48. (both source and executable versions where applicable) provided that you
  49. obey the conditions set out below:
  50.      
  51. *    The program is not copied for profit. You are permitted to ask for a
  52.      "handling charge" to cover postage, work, advertising etc and the price
  53.      of the disc (if supplied) but you may not charge money for the
  54.      software. You must copy the entire application.
  55.  
  56. *    Any modifications should be sent to me and/or the original author so we
  57.      can update the master copies and assign you a version number for your
  58.      modified copy of the program. This way we won't have any confusion over
  59.      which version of a program is the newest and everyone will be much
  60.      happier. You may not modify these licence conditions.

  62. *    You may include parts of the code in your own programs provided that
  63.      they are clearly identified as such.

  65. *    The recipient of the progam is made aware of these conditions.

  67. *    Some authors have other conditions, which will be REMs in the !RunImage
  68.      file (if BASIC) or tacked onto the end of this list (if compiled code).
