  7. The Camborne School of Mines is in west Cornwall, about halfway between 
  8. the towns of Camborne and Redruth and about twenty five miles from
  9. Land's End.  The mild climate, nearby coasts and scenic beauty combine 
  10. to make the area a popular holiday centre.

  13. The School is uniquely placed for educating engineers and geologists
  14. for the minerals  industry.

  16. It is one of the foremost mining schools in the world.  There
  17. were a large number of producing tin mines within a few miles of the School
  18. and the important china clay district near St Austell is less than a hour's
  19. drive away.
