- TimeStamp © George K. Saliaris, 1993
- ——————————————————————————————————————
-
- TimeStamp is a small application which provides a way to stamp one or more
- files with a certain time/date. RISC OS 3 Filer stamps files only with
- current real time.
-
- I wrote this program because I often found myself trying to stamp files
- with a timestamp different from current real time and of course changing the
- system clock back and forth is really a *very* sloppy practice.
-
- Unfortunately RISC OS does not provide a direct call to stamp an object
- with a certain time and date so I wrote TimeStamp to fill the omission.
-
- Installation and use
- ——————————————————————
- After running the program, an icon will be installed on the icon bar. To
- stamp one or more objects, select them in a directory display and drag them
- to the TimeStamp icon on the iconbar.
-
- Click on the TimeStamp icon to display the set stamp window. Use left and
- right arrow icons to adjust Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Day, Month and Year of
- stamp. Click on 'Real Time' button to set timestamp to the current real
- time. Note that clicking on arrow icons with Adjust reverses increment /
- decrement. You can also get the set stamp window via 'Set...' submenu.
-
- Comments
- ——————————
- All unstamped files (with execution and load addresses) are left intact.
-
- Directories are stamped too, but not their contents. Of course you can
- select their contents with the 'Select all' Filer option, and drag the
- selection to the iconbar.
-
- Years wrap around between 1900 and 2248.
