- postage etc.
- The program may be recalled from the P.D. at any time.
- It should not be used to "pirate" software - This is a reposiblity of the
- user
-
- N.B.
- ----
- The user should understand that they use this program at their own
- risk, no accepantce is made by the author for loss of data or work. The
- program should only be used ON BACKUPS of files, not on any original work as
- mistakes in its use/running could result in the loss of files. If you are
- unsure about what you are doing then STOP!
-
- Operation
- ---------
- The program can be run by double clicking on it in the usual way. It is
- single tasking and takes over the computer. Then just follow the on screen
- instructions.
-
- !Join was written to acommpany its sister program !Split, it allows you
- to reconstruct a file that has been copied in pieces to floppy disc by
- !Split. It will also join files created by other simple splitting programs
- as long as each file is named Part_xxx where xxx is the order of that file.
-
- When run it will ask for a destination file name for the reconstructed file.
- It will then procede to ask for each disc in turn. It will alert you if you
- have insereted the wrong disc and will allow you to try again. Once all the
- discs have been copied press Q to finish the process and close the
- destination file.
-
- All you have to do now is set the file type of the destination file from
- DATA to the required type. It is handy if the person who created the file
- parts lists this in a text file acommanying the file on the first disc.
-
-
- Things to look out for
- ++++++++++++++++++++++
-
- Make sure there is enough space on the destination drive before starting eg.
- If you have 7 discs with an 800K file on each you will need 7*800K (5600K
- /5.6Mb) free on the drive.
-
- When asked to insert a disc do not press space with no disc in the drive.
- If this happens the program will quit and close ALL open files , you will
- than have to start again.
