Dragging a file or directory/application onto the !FileInfo icon will pop up a window displaying information about the dragged object.
Multiple files/dirs may be dragged and a sum of their total information will be displayed, along with a path of the parent directory of the drag. (This helps to distinguish multiple windows from each other).
Holding down the Shift key while dragging multiple files will generate separate Info windows for all the objects without summation.
V 1.42 - holding down shift while closing any info window will close all
windows, (without quitting), keeping the desktop tidy.
V 2.12 - using adjust to close any window will quit application
(i.e. useful for 'one-off' counts)
- counting performed in background: closing counter window will abort.
- *count is now alias: means selecting 'count' from filer window once
application is intalled will open a !FileInfo window instead of
the nasty Command Window.
- (can't prevent CommandWindow from opening temporarily though...)

V 2.25 - finally got rid of the CommandWindow using a module to issue a
"SWI Wimp_CommandWindow,-1" before running !FileInfo

If you have a hard disc with a !boot startup file, !FileInfo can be set up after a reset by adding the following to your startup file:
* RMEnsure AliasCount 1.00 RMload <rm>.AliasRM
* Set FileInfo$Run <path>
* Set Alias$Count "AliasCount "
...where <rm> is the location of the AliasRM module (probably inside the !FileInfo application); and <path> is the full path of !FileInfo. e.g. adfs::HardDisc4.$.Utilities.!FileInfo
(NB there is a space after the word AliasCount inside the quotes, on the last line above)

...this means that it is still the full CopyRight of the Author, although he gives full permission to make as many copies for as many people as you like provided that:
- the program is not distorted in any way,
- all of the files are included in their complete form:

- the application sprite is returned to its original design before
copying it (each user may change it for his/her own purposes, but please
do not distribute YOUR copy of the application with different
sprites !),
- the author is recognised as the copyright owner (this !help file will do),
- no charge is made whatsoever for profit (i.e. other than handling,
postage, discs, staff overheads... !!) by anyone other than the Archive
magazine. NB If you wish to charge for the program please make
arrangements with the author first..
Other than the above, you are free to copy it, use it, and distribute it FREE for the benefit of all Archimedes users.
You can also change the sprites, code, etc for your OWN uses, as long as you do not distribute it as !FileInfo.
Also, please feel free to use (parts) of the code/program for your own work, but please make sure that the author is notified if your work is to be sold/distributed.
