  3. This program is Shareware.
  4. This means that you can copy this program to anyone you like, but if you
  5. find the program useful, you should register, as explained below. This
  6. entitles you to the latest version of this program, and of all my other
  7. applications.
  8. If you do copy the program it should be in its original format, with ALL of

  19. Purpose
  20. -------
  21. A program to compare two given files.
  22.

  24. To use
  25. ------
  26. Double click on the icon in the filer window to load the program. Drag two
  27. separate files onto the icon on the icon bar. Two windows should open, one
  28. for each file. Then click menu on the icon on the icon bar, and decide
  29. whether you wish to keep a log file of the differences between the two
  30. files, by going across the 'Options' selection. Finally, select 'Start',
  31. from the same menu. A window should open, titled 'Compare - Status', and if
  32. you selected to keep a log then a normal save window should appear. Drag the
  33. icon to the desired viewer to tell the program where to keep the log. Then
  34. the program should start the comparison. If you opted not to keep a log then
  35. the program will start the comparison straight away.
  36. If the files are of different length then the program will tell you so, and
  37. end there. However, should the files be of the same length then the
  38. comparison will be started in earnest. When the program is working you can
  39. click on the 'Pause' or 'Abort' icons at any time. If you click on pause
  40. then click on 'Resume' to (logically!) resume the comparison. If the program
  41. finds a difference then the status window will change, and a) tell you the
  42. position in the file of the difference; and b) ask you whether to continue
  43. the comparison or stop there.

  54. To register, send £5 to me, at the address shown below, stating what version
  55. of which programs you have. You can enclose your own disk for the programs,
  56. and if you do so you can deduct 50p from the price. Registering entitles you
  57. to upgrade to later versions of the same programs and to get new programs
  58. for the price of £1. Any additional contributions from overseas towards
  59. postage would be greatly appreciated.
