  3. !Access is just a small tool that allows you to change the access attributes
  4. of files in RISC OS. The way in which it differs from the Filer Access
  5. command is that !Access sets the specified attributes using recursion in the 
  6. directory-trees. This means that an entire directory -including all its
  7. subdirectories (and their subdirectories, and so on...)- and its files can be
  8. set with certain access attributes in one go!

  10. I wrote the little program just because I found it very hard each time I 
  11. wanted to clear a directory with locked files and subdirs, I had to open the
  12. subdirs one by one and change their attributes in the normal way (using the 
  13. filer) so I could finally delete them.

  15. To change access attributes with !Access, first install the program on the
  16. iconbar (by double-clicking on its icon in a filer), and subsequently drag
  17. any selection from a filer onto the !Access icon on the iconbar.
  18. To specify which attributes must be set, click Menu over the !Access icon
  19. on the iconbar, and open the 'Mode' submenu-window from the main menu. In 
  20. this window, each access mode can be toggled on or off by clicking on its 
  21. option-icon.
