  18. *Run (or double-click) the Config file.
  19.  
  20. This creates a directory called AutoStart in the root directory of your
  21. HardDisc and copies !Boot onto the root and !Run into AutoStart. It also
  22. issues some *Configure commands to enable the !Boot file to be run at power
  23. on and Ctrl-Break. Remember, only the !Boot and !Run files are needed from
  24. now on, but keep a backup copy of the entire application so that you can
  25. pass it on to a friend.

  27. When you switch on, your Archimedes will now enter the Desktop and
  28. automatically execute all the applications stored in $.AutoStart. There will
  29. also be a window in the centre of the screen showing the version; the
  30. application currently being run; the time and an indication of how full your
  31. HardDisc is. When AutoStart has finished (the middle icon is blank) you can
  32. cancel it simply by clicking the mouse.

  34. It is a good idea to include !System and !Fonts within AutoStart because
  35. some applications will need them. Applications are run after their !Boot
  36. files except !System and !Fonts which only have their !Boot files run.
  37. Actually, !System.!Boot (if it exists) is run first and !Fonts.!Boot (if it
  38. exists) is run second. AutoStart can handle a maximum of 76 applications.
