!ArchieMan is Public Domain software and may be
freely copied and distributed by any person
provided:
1. It is copied as a whole including all files in
the !ArchieMan directory (except the high score
file, see below).
2. No modification is made to any file in the
!ArchieMan directory (except the high score file,
which may be deleted to return the program to it's
default conditions).
This is the result of a challenge set by an Amiga
owner of our acquaintance who did not believe it
possible, as you can see it was not a problem.
The program installs on the icon-bar until
required, click SELECT on the icon to open the
game window. Closing the game window pauses the
game until it is reopened.
The program requires certain modules from the
System directory so it is necessary for the
computer to have seen this application before
using ArchieMan.
If the screen mode is changed the sprites for the
game need to be re-scaled and while this is being
performed the hourglass may be displayed (Unless
you're on an A540 of course). The program uses
varying amount of memory depending on which screen
mode is in use. Under some circumstances it may
be that it will not function in certain modes due
to lack of memory, if you require it to do so
please free some more memory and click SELECT on
the icon (200K should be sufficient regardless of
the screen mode you are in). Also we recommend
that the program is used in at least 16 colour
modes as it becomes a little difficult to see the
maze with less than 16 colours, we hope to rectify
this in the future.

Clicking MENU on the game window will allow you to
Pause/Resume and Abandon game. Clicking SELECT on
the game window will Resume a Paused Game. If the
Caret is passed to another Application the game
pauses until the game window regains the Caret.
If you feel like making a contribution to student
funds, then please do so enclosing a disc and we
will send you updated versions of the program.
Also if you have any comments, preferably
constructive, you can contact us at the following
address's and we will try to include them in the
next version.
