Bergen,Norway 8.30pm 21 Oct 1990
Features:
---------
1) You can use it to set 'current directory' with.
How ? : Easy!, Just drag the icon to a directory wiewer, drop it, and
voila 'current directory' is set to the pathname of this window.
('Current directory' is where the OS first looks for a file, if it
don't contain a full pathname.)
2) It will automatically convert a copy-and-delete to a rename command
if source and destination is on the same disc.
('copy-and-delete' is when you drag a selection of files from one
directory to another while holding down the shift button.
The OS then copies the files to the new directory, and then deletes
them from the original directory. This can be done much easier with
a Rename command (provided that both directories are on the same
disc) and that is what I do!)
3) Stays resident in RMA
( If you quit the desktop and the returns, the icon will still
be there. )
4) Gives you 9 overscan-modes
Select the one you want by clicking on it in the sub-menu 'overscan'.
They may also be selected by number. Each of the supplied overscan-modes
has as number : 30 + number of the standard mode.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrades done at the june 1990 Bergen Computer-Party
- Have moved the menu up a bit, so that its bottom is aligned with the
other menues on the iconbar.
- Can now again use co. as a shorthand for configure.., it used to be
expanded to copy..
- Can drag (application) directory to !Setdir, and I will open it, and set
current directory to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update II :
- You can now turn the overscan modes on or off. That is : with overscan
off, the module won't claim any of the mode-numbers it knows.
This is so that you can run a program that itself uses a mode
with the same mode-number as one belonging to !SetDir.
Just click at the overscan menu entry to toggle on/off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To run this program, just double-click on either the !SetDir application
or the !RunImage file. In fact, the !RunImage file contains all you need,
so you might rename it to 'GreatUtil' and put it in the Library.
