  8.  This application displays the character set in a window. The user can click
  9. SELECT on a character to enter that character as if from the keyboard.
  10. Different "fancy fonts" can be selected with the menu: unlike the default
  11. display, only the characters in the font will be shown. The top row of
  12. characters, shown in inverse video with the System Font only, correspond to
  13. control characters (eg clicking on the inverse video L is the same as typing
  14. ctrl-L ie character 12).

  16.  An extra facility is provided for entering characters into a menu item.
  17. Because clicking in another window would close any existing menu tree,
  18. !Chars allows you to press the Shift key while the pointer is over a
  19. character in its window, which has the same effect as clicking SELECT on the
  20. character, but does not close any menus.

  25.  This version of Chars (as it was originaly called) is a demonstration of
  26. the use of FontMenu. It is adapted by J.R╓ling, the author of FontMenu. See
