  1. Fireworkz Pro demo disc readme file

  4. To use this demonstration copy of Fireworkz Pro you will need 2MB of memory.
  5. Both this and the real version of Fireworkz Pro will run more easily if you 
  6. have RISC OS 3. If you have RISC OS 2 please read the notes below.

  11. Due to lack of space we were unable to provide a !System on this disk. To
  12. start Fireworkz Pro you will need to provide:

  14.     SharedCLibrary 3.75
  15.     FPEmulator     2.70
  16.     ColourTrans    0.52
  17.  
  18. About the demo version
  19. ======================
  20.  
  21. The demo version is different from the real version of Fireworkz Pro: it
  22. does not save files, will not print, the spelling checker is disabled,
  23. it cannot create charts or databases, many of the spreadsheet functions and
  24. several of the file converters (Lotus 1-2-3, Excel, RTF and PipeDream) have
  25. been omitted.

  27. Real Fireworkz Pro also has our dynamic linking system which loads objects
  28. when required: so it starts up in significantly less memory than the demo
  29. version; about 864k in fact, leaving you more space for documents.

  31. We are rather short of disc space on this demo, so it contains fewer example
  32. files than our demo discs usually do.

  34. To start Fireworkz Pro, double-click on !Fireworkz.
  35.  
  36. Demotext is a text-based tutorial you may find helpful: to load this,
  37. double-click on Demotext once you have Fireworkz Pro loaded.

  39. Existing Fireworkz users should look in the New directory for details of new
  40. features provided by Fireworkz Pro.

  42. Two sample databases are provided on the disc in the Mountains and Pupils
  43. directories.

  45. Things being what they are, the demo version usually lags behind the main
  46. version in version number and features: if you have a specific query about 
  47. something it's as well to check with us first since we may well have
  48. improved or altered the real version.
