Dear Mr. Fitton,
Thanks to your enthusiasm and advice I have purchased and been
impressed by PD4 (Version 4.13) and have been using it extensively in
wordprocessor and spreadsheet modes in my work as Examinations Officer
in a sixth-form college (which is dominated by PCs . . . . .). It is
with the use of %H2%charts%H2% to produce bar-charts for displaying and
printing comparative examination results-data that two problems have
arisen :
%C%1.
%C%2.
Thanks for all the good work you do to help us get the most out of
Pipedream.
%C%Yours sincerely,

The data in the table below relates to points scored within
the %H2%bands%H2% 0-20, (20)-30, (30)-40, . . . . . . . . .,
(220)-240 . The labelling on the horizontal axis,
therefore, should have the figures 20, 40, 60, . . . . .,
240 under the bar %H2%boundaries%H2% rather than centrally under
the bars. I have naively tried to %H4%drag%H4% the labelling across
to its correct position, in the same way that one can drag
the legend around, but to no avail. I can find no help in
the manual. %H2%Is there a solution ?%H2%
When %H2%printing%H2% a chart, with no access to a colour printer,
I have to change the default PD colours to light-grey and
white, as in the chart below, to give clarity to the block
outlines which are otherwise obliterated by the heavy
"colours" produced with black ink. When I want to
distinguish between more than two bars per classification I
then have a problem. I am looking for a solution such as is
provided by the different %H2%hatching%H2% patterns available in
%H4%Logistix%H4%. Of course, the boxes in the legend-area would
need to be larger to give sufficient space for the
different hatching-patterns to be distinguishable one from
another.
