Dear Gerald,
%JR%On my old BBC micro I have used for many years a package called Mini
%JR%Office II. It not only has a wordprocessor, a database and a
%JR%spreadsheet but also has a graphics package, a label printer and a
%JR%communications facility. At about ú16 on disc or ú59 in an ingenious
%JR%128K piggy-back ROM, it is a remarkable bargain and deserves the
half-million sales I understand it has now achieved.
%JR%With sales as high as this there is a fair chance that many Archimedes
%JR%users who have graduated from the old BBC micro will have used it. I
%JR%have recently converted a name and address database from Mini Office to
%JR%Pipedream 3 and readers of Archive may find it useful as an example if
they wish to make a similar conversion.
%JR%The example annotated BASIC program is on this disc as "MiniToPipe" and
%JR%another BASIC program "ReadMini" gives a few more comments. I hope you
will think them worthwhile.
%JR%Changing the subject, I read recently that ASCII 31 gives a hard space.
%JR%I have not had occasion to use it myself but I had a feeling that
I had read a comment from you requesting information on hard spaces.
Kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
John Greening
