  1. PlayIt should be able to be 'installed' by just running the !Install obey
  2. file. This simply does a 'newer' copy of the !PlayIt pseudo application in
  3. the same directory as !Install itself into Boot:Resources. !PlayIt is then
  4. !booted in its new location in case the path variable has not yet been
  5. defined.

  7. You can also just drag !PlayIt into Boot:Resources youself if you prefer.

  9. If you do not have the RPC !Boot structure on your computer then just copy it
  10. somewhere where it will be seen by the filer (or otherwise booted) before you
  11. need it. RISC OS 4 users may prefer to do this anyway and add it to
  12. Configuration|Boot|Look at.

  14. Please load PlayIt with the Ensure program (see programmers' guidelines in
  15. documentation) rather than RMEnsure to ensure major version number
  16. compatibility problems to do not occur since PlayIt 2.xx may not be backward
  17. compatible with PlayIt 1.xx. Also PlayIt if Ensure is not used PlayIt should
  18. be loaded with RMRun rather than RMLoad otherwise the wimp interface will not
  19. start. PlayIt will still function as a player in this case but transient
  20. buffer release and event messages will not work.
