  6. There are now two newshound mailing lists - newshound-announce
  7. for announcements of new versions, and newshound-l for
  8. discussion. Please see the stronghelp manual for details of
  9. how to subscribe.

  14. This version uses a slightly different queue format, and so you
  15. need a new version of Qedit to be able to edit messages in the
  16. queue.

  22. Voyager users should note that to achieve the same behaviour as the
  23. last version, -voyager must be passed to NewsHound on the command
  24. line.
  25. Also, NewsHound will now report groups that you've asked it to
  26. fetch but are not on the server - you can disable this in the
  27. configuration window if it's not to your liking.

  33. NewsHound now longer used the toolbox modules - the 'Res' and 'Messages'
  34. files may be removed if you're upgrading an old copy.

  38. If you're upgrading from a version prior to 1.22, you should note that the
  39. Rulefile format has changed slightly. Matching on fields is not case
  40. insensitive anymore - lower case now matches anything, and upper only
  41. upper.

  43. To retain the same effect as previous versions of NewsHound, you should
  44. make sure all your rules are written in LOWER case.

  79. a) Transport:
  80.   Run !InstTrans to update the transport definition. (you don't need to
  81.     copy it out of the archive first if you're using SparkFS).

  83.   NB. If you manually installed the newsbase transport anywhere other than
  84.       !NewsDir.newsbase.transports, delete it!

  86. b) NewsHound:
  87.   Just drag !NewsHound out of the archive over the top of your main copy.
  88.   It contains no config files, it will not wipe your current settings.
