  24.   The RiscStation Lite is out and its launch marks the beginning of a new
  25.   phase, the first of new RISC OS hardware not from Acorn.

  27.   With the other hardware we have been promised, next year should be the
  28.   best for a while in terms of both hardware and software releases.

  49.  2) ROX desktop release 0.1.7

  51.   The ROX desktop aims to provide a RISC OS style GUI on Unix systems.
  52.   Currently the filer is mostly finished and the desktop already supports
  53.   drag-and-drop loading and saving, application directories and an iconbar.
  54.   The desktop is stable and fully usable.

  77.  2) Teletext Christmas offer
  78.  
  79.   Until 24th December Octopus Systems are selling Teletext+ software with
  80.   Teletext cards for just GBP99. These are Computer Concepts teletext cards
  81.   (no longer available from CC) supplied with advanced Teletext+ software.

  83.   Teletext+ displays teletext pages on the computer screen but works much
  84.   faster than a television as pages and sub-pages are cached for fast
  85.   access. Teletext+ can also automatically search hundreds of pages every
  86.   day for keywords that interest you, presenting you with a personal summary
  87.   of the news and TV listings.

  97.   Cerilica RiScript, the RISC OS PostScript and PDF import and creation
  98.   package, will be available from mid-January.

  100.   RiScript, developed by R van den Bos and J Medema, has been around for
  101.   almost ten years and its Pro form was available from  Uniqueway until
  102.   December 1999. Cerilica came to an agreement with  RiScript's co-authors
  103.   and Paul Middleton of Uniqueway (now deeply involved with RISCOS Limited)
  104.   to seamlessly take on the exclusive publishing rights of this powerful
  105.   PostScript and PDF package, and to provide support for all existing users.

  107.   Cerilica make ideal partners to the RiScript authors due to knowledge of
  108.   design and publishing as well as technologies developed  for the ground
  109.   breaking Cerilica Vantage package.

  111.   Cerilica RiScript is a major upgrade over all previous versions with a
  112.   revised friendly user interface, more capable interpretation engine and
  113.   new features such as PDF file creation. In addition the price has been

  119.  4) Games CD for RISC OS 4
  120.  
  121.   iSV Products has available a strictly limited number of StrongGames CDs
  122.   for RISC OS. These contain over over 140 games suitable for RISC OS 4. The
  123.   CD comes complete with a graphical front end that shows a sample of each
  124.   game on screen.

  131.  5) Schema 2, Virtualise, Compo upgrades
  132.  
  133.   Clares Micro Supplies Limited have released new versions of Schema 2,
  134.   Virtualise, and Compo.
  135.  
  136.   Schema 2 is a spreadsheet for all RISC OS machines. It includes a powerful
  137.   macro programming language, along with a large number of functions and a
  138.   graphing facility. The spreadsheets in Acorn's Advance, and in NCWorks are
  139.   cut down versions of Schema 2, so the the files from these will load into
  140.   Schema 2.

  145.   Virtualise is virtual memory system for the Risc PC and A7000. It provides
  146.   virtual memory support for data in dynamic areas. This allows you to treat
  147.   the hard disc as an extension to memory. Details are at

  182.     ASM is a freeware ARM assembler. Version 4.05 fixes a bug in 4.04 that
  183.     could cause ASM to crash if the length of any symbol name, string, etc
