Riscster is a client for Napster, the online mp3 music community. The Napster community allows internet users to share mp3 files directly. A central server allows any user to search all other users for a particular track, but mp3's are not transferred through the actual server.

Riscster is far from complete, but it has reached the stage where it may be useful and so is available for download in both binary and source form. It is free software distributed under the GNU general public licence.

The current release may be of interest to programmers and experienced RISC OS users who have the necessary patience to deal with software so early in its development.

Riscster currently allows you to search for tracks and download them from other users. You also cannot share mp3's yet. However, I have been able to successfully download many mp3's through Riscster.

Riscster won't run on an ordinary PC or a Mac; it is written for workstations running RISC OS.
