A0:NEW box. Enter the correct phonetic word here, either from the coloured phoneme buttons, or by typing a word which "sounds like" the pronunciation you want in the LIKE box.
A1:OLD box. Shows the phonetic translation of the English word in the WORD box (once the green button to the right of the WORD box has been clicked).|MClick the down arrow button to copy it to the NEW box where it can be edited.
A2:LIKE box. Enter a word which sounds like the word in WORD. Press the green button to put the phonetic translation of this "sounds like" word into the OLD box. Eg. to get the phonetic translation of "Phoebe", type "Feeby" here.
A3:Click this green button to speak the word in the WORD box, and to put its phonetic translation into the OLD box.
A4:Click this green button to speak the phonetic word in the NEW box.
A5:ADD Button. Adds the phonetic word in the NEW box into the exceptions list.
A6:REMOVE Button. Removes the entry in the exceptions list for the English word in the WORD box.
A7:SAVE Button. Causes any changes to the exceptions list (made by ADD and REMOVE) to take effect. The new exceptions list is saved to disc. Speak module which is currently loaded is notified of the changes.
A8:Click the arrow button to copy the phonetic translation from the OLD box to the NEW box, where it can be edited.
A9:DEL button. This just acts like the DELETE key on the keyboard. Provided for convenience, so you can delete a phoneme with a mouse click, rather than pressing the delete key.
A11:WORD box. Enter the English word whose pronunciation you want to correct, then press RETURN or click the green button next to it. This speaks its current pronunciation, and puts its phonetic translation into the OLD box.
A12:Click this green button to put the phonetic translation of the word in LIKE into OLD.
