  4. Options
  5. -------

  7. Keymap - this submenu lets you choose a different key mapping
  8. for the emulator from !6502Em.Keymaps
  9.  
  10. Paged ROMs determines whether or not the emulator supports
  11. paged ROMs
  12.  
  13. Palette - when deselected the palette is not emulated
  14. (except a one-off palette update can be forced by pressing
  15. f10 when the emulator is running)
  16.  
  17. Cursor - when deselected the cursor is not emulated
  18.  
  19. Pass on OSCLI - when selected, unrecognised * Commands are
  20. passed through to RISC OS (eg *Speaker Off, *Cache On)
  21.  
  22. Exact speed - when selected, the emulator is slowed down,
  23. if necessary, to the speed of an original BBC
  24.  
  25. Machine - this submenu lets you choose which computer
  26. to emulate. Menu options will be greyed out if the
  27. appropriate ROMs are not available
  28.  
  29. Sound - this option allows the sound to be turned off which
  30. may also speed up the emulator if you have a slow machine
  31.  
  32. Scroll Hack - this option will allow some games that do
  33. lots of hardware scrolling (eg Repton) to run faster

  37. This option cannot be saved and will be reset whenever a
  38. Script is run
  39.  
  40. file_xxx - this option determines whether a different
  41. icon should be used for unfiletyped icons (ie those
  42. that have a load and run address instead)
  43. The icon is an owl with RED eyes
  44. (An owl with GREY eyes is used for files with a filetype of &BBC)
  45.  
  46. Default restores all the above options to their default value
  47. It also restores the sound volume to maximum
  48.  
  49. Save Options saves the above options (plus volume) for the next
  50. time the emulator is loaded
  51. (the Scroll Hack option will not be saved)
  52.  
  53. Patch
  54. -----
  55.  
  56. This submenu allows patches, in !6502Em.Patches, to be
  57. loaded to run certain games.
  58. Select "Patch", when ticked, to turn off the current Patch.
  59.  
  60. ROMs
  61. ----
  62.  
  63. This submenu shows which sockets have images in them, and
  64. which of them are write-protected (ticked).
  65. By selecting items, the write-protection can be changed.

  67. Misc
  68. ----

  70. This submenu offers the following options:
  71.  
  72. Read CSD
  73.  
  74. This sets the emulator's Currently Selected Directory (CSD)
  75. to RISC OS's CSD.
  76. Each copy of the emulator (if more than one is running)
  77. keeps its own CSD internally.
  78.  
  79. Reset
  80.  
  81. This option performs the equivalent to a power-on reset
  82. (within the emulator)
  83.  
  84. Disable Tape (BBCB and Electron Only)
  85.  
  86. This option will patch the emulated machine's operating system
  87. to send all Tape commands through Virtual DFS.
  88. It can only be deactivated by changing Machine or quitting the
  89. emulator, so should be used with caution
  90.  
  91. Save
  92. ----
  93.  
  94. This allows the current state of the emulator to be saved.
  95. This may not work satisfactorally in Master 128 or Master Compact
  96. mode as sideways ROMs etc are not saved.
  97.  
  98. Sprite
  99. ------
  100.  
  101. This option will not be offered unless you have enabled it
  102. in !6502Em's !Run file, which allocates more memory.
  103. It allows the emulator's screen to be saved as a Sprite.
