  1. INTERNET STARTER-PACK FOR ACORN RISC OS 3.1 COMPUTERS (v 1.10)

  4. Starter Pack = Acorn spk archive file = 1.3MB approx
  5.  
  6. This is the Internet Starter-Pack configured for Demon users.
  7. To get going, download the two files "sparkplug" and "StarterPak".
  8. (Set for binary mode transfer if via the Internet)
  9.  
  10. *** Discs supplied by me may contain the !ArcFS application rather
  11. than !Sparkplug, just double-click to open the archive, then drag
  12. to your "Internet" directory to unpack ***
  13.  
  14. *** The ARCADE version will decompress with !ArcFS ***
  15.  
  16. When you have the files on disc, settype the file sparkplug
  17. to BASIC and double-click on it.  This creates !SparkPlug, which
  18. you should then run.  Drag the file "StarterPak" onto the Sparkplug
  19. icon, which should open up a filer window with lots of goodies.
  20. Do a "select all" then drag them out of the archive into a filer
  21. window on your hard disc.  Read the text help files to find out
  22. how to configure it all (Look in the directory Docs & read the 
  23. Guide first)

  25. NB. remember that after you have dragged the applications out of the 
  26. archive and onto disc that you need to either;
  27.  
  28. (1) run all the !Boot files inside all the applications, or 
  29. (2) reboot the machine before running any of the stuff as Risc OS will 
  30. be pointing to the stuff in the archive, not the new copies on the disc.

  53. 1.11  Mar 1995  Late modification to !NewsBase. For those who have 1.10, 
  54.                 you should upgrade to the latest version of !NewsBase, 
  55.                 you do not need the rest of the Starter-Pack.
  56.                 The documentation is unchanged between v1.10 & 1.11.
