  20. Explore with Flossy the Frog is an exciting, imaginative and innovative
  21. example of interactive fiction. Although this simple-to-use program is
  22. intended for children up to the age of 8, its superb animations and
  23. surprises will delight users of any age. The aim of the program is to
  24. provide reading opportunities, simple problem solving tasks, and a stimulus
  25. for creative activities away from the computer. (The ability to read the
  26. text is not essential.)

  28. Flossy provides a safe and stimulating environment which children can
  29. explore at their leisure. It is safe in that there are no hazards and no
  30. mistakes can be made. In each of the nine main scenes there are objects and
  31. characters which will perform when clicked upon. Clicking on something with
  32. the left mouse button causes an action while clicking with the right button
  33. displays some text. The animations are multi-tasking: several can take place
  34. at the same time.

  36. The route from one scene to another is not always obvious. To leave the
  37. bedroom, for example, you have to close the curtains, open the curtains, and
  38. then click on Flossy.
