  2.                NOTES ON MPEG VIDEO CLIPS
  3. ===============================================================

  5. MPEG is a compression standard for video playback on computer.
  6. It is more efficient and better than VIDEO FOR WINDOWS AVI.
  7.  
  8. The Windows version of MPEG player enclosed here is copyrighted by
  9. XING technolgy. A full copy is stored under \WIN_UTIL\XINGMPEG.
  10. You can read the documentation for further details.

  12. We have set up the MPEG player in a way that it pops up a window
  13. inside WINDOWS when activated; then follow these steps:
  14. 1.  click on FILE, a window pops up with files which have .MPG
  15. extension.
  16. 2.  click on any one of these file; then click on OK.  The window
  17. will close.  You see the original window again.
  18. 3.  click on the PLAY button (right arrow), then the video will
  19. run continuously.  To stop, click on the STOP button (square mark).

  22. PROBLEMS?
  23.  
  24. If you get GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT or other error messages
  25. when trying to run MPEG video, try the following:
  26.  
  27. 1.  Reboot system and re-run the selection.  This works most
  28.     of the time.
  29.  
  30. 2.  Copy all the files with .DLL extension into your WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  31.     subdirectory, and then re-run the selection.

  35. We have also included a DOS version of MPEG player in the \MPEGDOS
  36. subdirectory.  It does not give good effect though.
