WARCRAFT II
.PUD DESCRIPTION FILE
=====================================================================
Title :Pandora's Box
Filename :Pandora
Author :Cameron Vine
Email Address :SCVINE@UALR.EDU
Misc. Author Info :This is my second attempt at a multiplayer Pud,
but I still don't have a modem, so I can't really test it as such. I am a
student at UALR, so I can be reached at their computer lab at the listed
Email address. I don't check my Email every day, and seldom check it in
between semesters, but that doesn't mean I'm ignoring you. I welcome your
comments, and would be glad to give and/or receive advice. As always, you
may do whatever you wish with any of my maps. Just don't forget me in
your credits. My imagination has run dry of ideas for maps, so if you have
any good ideas, and want to share, let me know. I'll give you credit for
the idea, make the map for you, or just iron out the bugs for you.
Description :This is the multiplayer version of Knight of the
Living Dead. Each player starts off with one "Superman", (an NPC with 1000
hit points, and modified attack strength) and three "Arch-Daemons", (a
Daemon with 666 hit points, and modified attack strength.) Other things
that have been modified are as follows: 1) All players have both human and
orc capabilities. 2)Skeletons are about as tough as ogres, so raising the
dead is a much more effective spell. 3)The "eye of kilrog" clears out a
path that is several times wider. There are 4 players, and one computer
opponent. The computer has a "Superman" of its own, and many more
Arch-Daemons than all of the human players put together. This is meant to
be a cooperative-deathmatch level, but can be played as single player if
you have a death wish. Here's the Storyline; Guldan has successfully
unearthed the Tomb of Sargeras. Now, his new master has granted him almost
limitless power, and commanded him to return to the Black Morass to erect a
temple where the Stormreaver Clan is to worship him. On Guldan's way back,
he made a detour to pay an old debt to Orgrim Doomhammer for humiliating
him. The Blackrock Clan was wiped out almost completly, Doomhammer himself,
and a few peons who were not in the camp at the time survived. Guldan now
fancies himself a living God, and has started a reign of terror in the lands
of Azeroth that makes the threat of the Hoard pale in comparison. The
Hoard and the Alliance put aside their differances as they struggle for
survival against this common threat. Even Guldan's loyal apprentice
Cho'gall recognizes that his former master must be stopped. Four fighting
forces are now all that is now left to resist this horror. Cho'gall,
Zuljin, Anduin Lothar, and Uther Lightbringer have taken command of these
forces. The Guardian Aegwyn, has used all the power she had to strengthen
these leaders and now lies exausted and possibly dying from the effort.
Kiljaeden is not at all pleased that his former master has been released
from his tomb, and would like to do away with Sargeras so that he can once
again enforce the power and authority he enjoyed in Sargeras' absense. So he
has sent three Arch-Daemons to aid each of the forces in their effort to
slay Guldan, and Return Sargeras to his tomb. If Guldan is not stopped now,
none who refuse to worship Sargeras will survive. SLAY THE WICKED!!!
Hints :I'm going to assume that most of you will be
engaging in deathmatch after you wipe out the main threat. Erect a Church
and a temple of the damned as soon as possible. Keep your Superman, and
Arch-Daemons healed. If you lose them, and your buddies attack you with
theirs, kiss your @#% goodbye. One of these supermen can nearly wipe out
your entire village singlehandedly, possibly taking out scores of knights
before he goes down. After each battle, raise as many dead as you can.
Keep your paladins out of the fighting as much as you can, and use them only
to heal your other units, and cast exorcism spells on your opponents' undead.
When you are attacking the pentacle, try to separate the Arch-Daemons. All
of the computer's super characters are on passive mode. This means that
they will stay where I posted them unless one of your guys is unfortunate
enough to wander near them. You will notice that Daemons can not be
grouped together. There wasn't anything I could about that.
Additional Credits to :My wife, who patiently learned how to play Warcraft
2 just so she would be able to test my PUDs for me. In spite of the fact
that I tried to teach her how to play, she has developed an extreme fondness
for the game. It was hard for me to remember my first fumbling moments with
this game, and I got so frustrated with her that I made her too nervous to
play. Finally, I had to go out into the living room so she could play in
peace. When I returned, I discovered that I didn't know everything, and that
she had developed some strageties on her own that were just as effective as
my own, and sometimes better. The original version of this is entitled
"Knight of the Living Dead." It is her very favorite of my puds, and the
title was her idea. 2)Blizzard; I got the idea for the supermen from the
heroes on the expansion disk.

* Play Information *
Game :Warcraft 2
# of REAL Players :4 maximum
# of COMPUTER opponents :2
CO-OP, DEATHMATCH, BOTH :Either or both, whatever is more fun. I played it
as a single player game, and beat it without cheating, but it isn't easy.
By the time I was done, I had racked up almost 1300 kills, and lost almost
800 units. A grueling experience to say the least. If you're up for a very
serious 1 player challenge, this is your ticket.
Race :All 4 players are both orc and human.
Resources :Standard
Units :Each human player starts off with 1 Superman NPC, 3
Arch-Daemons, 1 town hall, 3 peons, and 3 peasants.
Known Bugs :None that I am aware of, but I can't test it as a
multiplayer game. I envy those of you that have a modem. I am sure it is
much more fun to play against other people than against the computer. I
don't anticipate any multiplayer problems, but if there are any, let me know
what they are, and I'll try to help you out.
