DOOMED v0.99b - DOOM Save Game Editor
written by: Nelson Fernandez Jr.
(c)1993
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER: DOOMED changes your saved game files. BE SURE TO MAKE A
BACKUP OF ALL FILES! I have tested DOOMED to the best of
my ability, but as with any software there may be bugs. I
do not accept responsibility for damage cause by the use or
misuse of DOOMED.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
DOOMED requires that you have a VGA card becuase it uses 80x50 mode.
To use DOOMED, type DOOMED <filename>. Where <filename> can include the
path to your saved game files. Example: DOOMED c:\DOOMDATA\DOOMSAV0.DSG.
You must type the complete filename and the program does NOT check to
make sure that the file is a real DOOM saved game. So please don't do
something stupid like specifying COMMAND.COM as your filename!
After DOOMED is loaded it will display various values and you have
three options:
<C>hange - This option lets you change the values and flags. Some flags
should really be values for timing purposes, such as the
Light Visor, but I just max the value when you choose it.
The max value will let you keep the item for over 5 days, so
it should be enough to get you through the level. Also note
that some goodies go away after you finish a level.
By entering a blank value or flag, you will tell the program
to leave that value/flag alone. After you enter all values
and flags, the program will write them to disk.
Note that when you change an ammo value you will also change
the maximum level for that type of ammo. So if you change your
ammo values to a 0, you will have a maximum capacity of 0 also.
<M>ax - This will max all values and activate most flags.
<Q>uit - You need to have some way to get back into DOOM, right?
Please refer to the DOOM README file for an explanation of the different
effects of various goodies.
DOOMED also lets you play in 'Acid Warp' mode. It may not be too practical
but it sure is neat to see. This effect is only available with DOOMED.
If you register DOOMED you can access a few of the debug options. I know
there are more, but I haven't figured them out yet. Remember, I wrote this
program with no documentation from id!
Debug options include:
NO_CLIPPING - Walk right through walls!
GOD_MODE - The *real* god mode. DOOMEDIT v3 claims to give you god mode
but its really invulnerability. This god mode will not turn
your screen white, and your face will get that 'god' look to
it!
SLOW_MOTION - Lets you play in slow motion. Why you would want this, I don't
know, but the programmers put it in there.
All registered users will get free updates to DOOMED. See the end of this
file for info on how to register.

Here is some info on regular DOOM command line options:

where: %e is the episode (0-2)
%l is the level (0-9)
%s is the skill level (0-3)
DOOM -loadgame %g LOAD A GAME
where: %g is the saved game number (0-5)
DOOM -devparm -record %d RECORD A DEMO

note: you can use this parameter with -wart, -skill

DOOM -playdemo %d PLAY A DEMO
where: %d is a filename of a previously recorded demo
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the future, I _may_ try to write a level editor, but it will be quite
a chore without docs from id. Anyway, I hope you enjoy DOOMED and I hope
you register it and send me ideas on improvements. Please register, so
that I can register DOOM!
