  11. This is a functional demo version of a program for printing images on the
  12. Alps MD-2300 Masterpiece printer using its photographic quality (dye-sub)
  13. mode.

  15. The Alps MD-2300 Masterpiece printer is a low cost combination dry ink and
  16. dye-sub printer. (The so-called "inks" are actually ribbon cartridges.) In
  17. dye-sub mode, using the special photographic ink cartridges, it is capable
  18. of near continuous tone photographic quality printing, which makes it one
  19. of the lowest cost printers in this category. Until now, there have been
  20. no print drivers available to utilize the photographic quality mode with the
  21. Amiga.

  23. PhotoPrint is not a true print driver, as it does not link into
  24. the operating system to be called by other programs.  Rather, it is a
  25. program which allows one to select an image file, resize and position it
  26. on the page, and print it.  I wanted to get it working as soon as possible
  27. and concentrated solely on that problem, so I made no attempt to reinvent
  28. other software tools which are readily available and do those jobs better
  29. than I could duplicate.  Any color balancing, image rotation, contrast
  30. adjustment, etc. must first be done in an image processing program of your
  31. choice.  The image must then be saved in raw red, green and blue files, or
  32. "Sculpt" format. Programs such as ImageFX or ADPro will save in this
  33. format.

  35. Printing is done directly from disk file to the printer or to another file,
  36. if desired.

  38. The demo version is limited to printing on 4x6" paper stock. For the full
