Info-ZIP UNZIP 5.51 for OS/2
============================
These are 32-bit OS/2 executables of Info-Zip's UNZIP program version 5.51
with support for the unShrink (LZW) method enabled, which is required for
extracting many packages from IBM.
License/Disclaimer
------------------
See the LICENSE file for terms and conditions. Also note that due to the
activation of the unShrink code portions, which use the LZW method, patent
restrictions may apply in your country.
I am not part of Info-Zip, nor do I in any way represent them.
Installation
------------
To install, place the contents of this archive into a directory on your PATH,
and make sure that no other executables or command files of the same name are
present in your PATH.
ATTENTION, Object Desktop users! Due to a change in the format of displayed
messages, Unzip versions greater than 5.32 do NOT work with Object Desktop's
archive viewers. (The typical symptom is a missing character in the display of
directory and file names.) If you want to profit from newer versions' changes
while retaining the WPS archive viewer's functionality, place the executables
of this version in a directory on your PATH and those of version 5.32 in a
directory that is NOT on your PATH. Then open the Object Desktop master setup,
go to the ZIP tab, choose the option to explicitely specify the Unzip executable,
and type in the path to the version 5.32 executable. Close the master setup and
everything should be fine.
Compilation
-----------
These executables were compiled with emx 0.9d ('nmake -f os2/makefile.os2
gcc'), with the following compile flags (may be stored in the LOCAL_UNZIP
environment variable):
-DOS2_EAS -DUSE_UNSHRINK
The sources used (unzip551.zip) were the latest version downloaded from
ftp://ftp.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/src on April 23, 2004.
The two included REXX scripts have been converted into DOS-style text format
(CR-LF) so that they will cooperate properly with OS/2.

Parts of this file were blatantly stolen from Alex Taylor's build packages of
version 5.50.
