  1.  ULTIMEDIA MAIL/2 LITE - REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION

  4.      Mail that you want to keep should be copied to another
  5.      directory then recopied to the appropriate directory once
  6.      UltiMail/2 is reinstalled.
  7.  
  8.      X = The drive where Ultimedia Mail/2 Lite is installed.
  9.  
  10.      1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file and remove all references to
  11.         UMAIL from the following commands:
  12.  
  13.           LIBPATH
  14.           SET PATH
  15.           SET HELP
  16.  
  17.      2. Save the CONFIG.SYS file and exit.
  18.  
  19.      3. Select the IBM Internet Connection for OS/2 folder and
  20.         drag the Ultimedia Mail/2 Lite folder to the Shredder.
  21.         When prompted by OS/2 to reverify the delete option, click
  22.         on "Yes to All."
  23.                                                                                 
  24.      4. Perform shutdown, then restart the system.
  25.                                                                                 
  26.      5. During restart a white box with OS/2 next to it will
  27.         appear in the upper left corner.  When this box appears
  28.         press, Alt+F1 to display the Recovery Choices Screen.
  29.                                                                                 
  30.      6. On the Recovery Choices Screen select C for Command
  31.         Prompt.
  32.                                                                                 
  33.      7. At the Command Prompt type:
  34.            CD TCPIP\UMAIL, then press Enter
  35.                                                                                 
  36.      8. At the X:\TCPIP\UMAIL prompt type:
  37.            DEL UMAILWPS.DLL
  38.                                                                                 
  39.         to delete the UMAILWPS.DLL file.
  40.  
  41.      9. Type:
  42.            EXIT, then press Enter
  43.                                                                              
  44.         to restart the system.
  45.  
  46.     10. After the system restarts, double click on the OS/2
  47.         System icon.
  48.                                                                                 
  49.     11. In the OS/2 System Icon View, double click on the Drives
  50.         icon.
  51.                                                                                 
  52.     12. In the Drives Icon View, double click on the drive that
  53.         contains the TCPIP directory.
  54.                                                                                 
  55.     13. Find the folder labeled TCPIP and click on the plus (+)
  56.         sign to see all the sub-directories.
  57.                                                                                 
  58.     14. Find the UMAIL folder and drag it to the Shredder to
  59.         delete it. When prompted by OS/2 to reverify the delete
  60.         option, click on "Yes to All."  Ultimedia Mail/2 Lite is
  61.         now deleted from the system.
  62.  
  63.     15. To reinstall Ultimedia Mail/2 Lite connect to the Internet
  64.         and perform a Retrieve Software Updates to get the most
  65.         recent version.  This copy installs automatically for you.

  68.         Or you can perform FTP with IBM Web Explorer with the
  69.         following URL:

  71.            ftp://ftp01.ny.us.ibm.net/pub/ultimail

  73.         and download UMF21001.ZIP and README.UML.  After the files
  74.         download, unzip UMF21001.ZIP into a temp directory and type:

  76.            INSTALL
  77.  
  78.         to re-install Ultimedia Mail/2 Lite. When the installation
  79.         completes, perform shutdown then restart the system.

  81.     16. When restart completes, open an OS/2 Window, type:
  82.            CD TCPIP\UMAIL, and press Enter.
  83.  
  84.         At the X:\TCPIP\UMAIL prompt, type:
  85.            E UMAIL.PRO
  86.  
  87.         Go to the end of the file and add the following lines:

  89.         :USER    name             = 'bbbbbb bbbbbb'
  90.                  reply_domain     = 'mail.server.provider'
  91.                  reply_id         = 'bbbbbb'
  92.                  other_id         = 'Internet'

  107.     17. After you add the lines, save the file as a Plain Text
  108.         File.  When you start UltiMail for the first time, a
  109.         prompt asks you to enter additional information that you
  110.         received from your provider and request you to set up a
  111.         password.
