  40. This distribution is described in the files ending with .txt.  You
  41. should read install.txt before starting to install LaTeX.

  43. Here is a brief description of some of these files:

  45.  * 00readme.txt is this file.

  47.  * manifest.txt lists all the files in the LaTeX distribution
  48.    with one line information about their contents.
  49.  
  50.  * install.txt describes how to install LaTeX.
  51.  
  52.  * tex2.txt contains important information for users of old versions
  53.    of TeX (pre 1990).
  54.  
  55.  * autoload.txt contains important information for users of older
  56.    computers with limited memory. 
  57.  
  58.  * unpacked.txt lists all the files in the unpacked LaTeX distribution.
  59.  
  60.  * legal.txt describes the LaTeX copyright, warranty and copying
  61.    restrictions.

  63.  * patches.txt describes the update policy and how important changes
  64.    will be distributed between release dates.
  65.  
  66.  * texpert.txt contains information about the installation that is
  67.    useful for TeX experts.

  70.  * bugs.txt describes how to submit a bug report for LaTeX.

  77. You will probably need to update your system before you can typeset
  78. these files.  Each file needs three LaTeX runs.
