  21. Introduction
  22. ============

  24. This program is meant to be configured as picture viewer in directory
  25. tools like DirOpus or DosControl. It shows the doubleclicked picture
  26. in a borderless window on the specified custom screen. The remarkable
  27. about this program is that it reads the whole directory the picture is
  28. in and you can then choose other pictures out of this directory from
  29. a menu or by pressing the cursor keys.

  32. Installation
  33. ============

  35. Copy the PicShow executable somewhere where your directory tool can
  36. find it. A good place is the C directory.

  39. Configuration
  40. =============
  41.  
  42. Call PicShow as a Shell program with the following parameters:
  43.  
  44. FILE/A         The picture to show first. You can specify a directory
  45.                here. In this case the directory is read first and then
  46.                the topmost picture is shown.
  47.  
  48. PUBSCREEN/K    The pubscreen where to open the window. Default is the
  49.                default pubscreen (usually Workbench).
  50.  
  51. P=PATTERN/K    Only picture files that match this name pattern are
  52.                shown in the list.
  53.  
  54. FLASH/S        Flashes the screen (displays beep) after the directory
  55.                read is complete.

  58. Usage
  59. =====

  61. When the window showing a picture is open you can do this:
  62.  
  63. o  Quit PicShow 
  64.    -  double click into the window or
  65.    -  press the ESC key or
  66.    -  press Q
  67.  
  68. o  Show the next picture
  69.    -  press the cursor down key or
  70.    -  press the cursor right key or
  71.    -  press the cursor down or right keys on the numeric keypad or
  72.    -  press space bar or
  73.    -  press return
  74.  
  75. o  Show the previous picture
  76.    -  press the cursor up key or
  77.    -  press the cursor left key or
  78.    -  press the cursor up or left keys on the numeric keypad or
  79.    -  press backspace (the <- key above return)
  80.  
  81. o  Show some infos about the current picture
  82.    -  keep the mouse pointer inside the window and don't move it for
  83.       some time
  84.  
  85. o  If the picture is too large to fit into the screen
  86.    -  grab the picture with the left mouse button and move it around.
  87.  
  88. o  Choose a picture from the list
  89.    -  press the right mouse button and hold it down. The list can scroll
  90.       up and down if there are more files than fit into one page. Just
  91.       move the mouse pointer over the arrow(s).
