Description: Addon for mIRC5.82 that allows you to query
Quake3:Arena and Quake2 servers within mIRC. It's
got a neat dialog interface, and should be pretty
simple to setup and use.
The following parts of this file is from the latest known version as
published by Istari.

Installation
»»»»»»»»»»»»»
1) Unzip the zip file into a directory, e.g.
c:\mirc\mIRCScout\.
2) Start mIRC, and type in your status window:
/load -rs <path_to_mIRCScout>\mircscout.mrc
3) If it asks if you want to run initialization commands for
the new script loaded, press YES.
4) Browse to your Quake3:Arena executable and press Ok.
Compatibility
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
I have taken all measures to make this script 100% compatible
with all other scripts out there. Naturally, this is impossible
and if you should happen to use a script which doesn't interact
well with mIRCScout, let me know exactly what's wrong, any
error messages you get, and an url and name of the script you're
using. But, remember, you NEED mIRC5.82 in order to mIRCScout
working properly, and that can be the reason why your old script
doesn't work.
Harnessing the powers of mIRCScout
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
Once installed, you should have a new menu option called
mIRCScout in your channel and commands menu. It should
contain four options:
open favourites: Opens mIRCScout ready for action.
ping ip: Pops up an input box and pings the ip you specify.
setup: Enters a small setup wizard.
help: Opens the help dialog, with the newest FAQ and bug list.
When you have gotten the mIRCScout dialog running, most things
ought to be pretty self-explanatory. To ping a favourite,
simply doubleclick the ip address on the list. As for now,
you must only use numeric ip's in your favourites list.
Quickfind?
»»»»»»»»»»»
Quickfind is a rather unique feature that allows you to scan
all your favourite servers for a certain player, an empty
tournament server or a server running a certain mod.
empty: Scans for empty servers.
populated: Scans for servers that aren't empty.
tournament/ffa/ctf/team dm: Searches for the specified gametype. ╣
fs_game: Scans for servers with the entered mod running.
player: Scans for servers with players matching what you've
entered. Wildcards are allowed, so a scan for [lm]*
would find servers with players with the [lm] prefix.
╣) only for Quake3
You can also combine the different criteria, to for example find
an empty tournament server.
This is the most recent added feature, and thus the one least
tested. I'm convinced it contains thousands of bugs, and I don't
know how well it handles 30+ servers scanned with a poor 28.8K
modem. Now it works in a rather clumsy way, and I need a new way
of noticing when a server won't send me more information.
So bug reports on this field are greatly appreciated, but please
check the newest bug list in the help section.
To do list:
»»»»»»»»»»»»
* Sort out a better way than having a custom window docked on top
of the dialog for displaying colourized player names.
* Clean up the processing of Quickfind, find a better way of
detecting when the scan is completed.
* Maybe add a maxclients field to Quickfind.
* Automatic update.
* Add new exciting features.
* Explore new worlds.
* Join the army.
Do realize however, that I don't script much at all anymore, so
mIRCScout does not quickly progress. mIRC scripting is limited,
and much of the contents of this script could've been written
much better. Those are two of the reasons why I feel less and less
encouraged to pursue this project.
