WISR7 Information:
The files in the pub/WISR/wisr7 directory on ftp site
gandalf.umcs.maine.edu currently reflect the final proceedings, prior
to the workshop on August 28-30, 1995 at the Andersen Consulting Center
in St. Charles, Illinois.
1. The majority of papers (33) are in LaTex form and are in the
repository as Latex, DVI, Postscript, AND ascii (txt) files.
Those papers that have Postscript diagrams have them included
as separate Postscript files in the /tex directory. The diagrams
are also embedded in the Postscript files in the /ps directory,
but are NOT embedded in the DVI files in the /dvi directory.
*** IMPORTANT ***
If you don't already have epsf.sty and ieeetr.bst on your system,
you may need to ftp them from the /textools directory (ieeetr.bst
for those papers with bib files, and epsf.sty for those papers
with embedded postscript diagrams).
*****************
2. 13 of the papers were written using Microsoft Word 5.1,
appearing as binhexed Mac Word 5.1 format (.msw.hqx) and RTF format
(.rtf) files in the /word5 directory, and as ascii (.txt) files
in the /txt directory. The .msw.hqx files
can only be processed by Mac Word 5.1, but the .rtf files can be
transferred in text mode and should be readable by both
IBM and Mac versions of Word.
*** UNFORTUNATELY ***
I've had problems getting Mac postscript files to print on the
postscript printers on our SUN network. Given that the files tend
to be extremely large I surmise that a large amount of font
information is being packed into each file that is not
understandable by the printer drivers. I therefore haven't
included postscript files for the Word generated papers. If
anyone would like to try their hand at generating usable
postscript files for these papers, go for it...
