The Spechters were colourless cylindrical beer glasses with a top opening outwards and a chequered spiral trailing encircling the whole body of the glass. Glassmakers also attempted to get the same decorative effect by mould-blowing glasses which were similar to Spechters ΓÇö this way glasses could be produced much more quickly and with less work. Spechters were produced in many places in Germany and the Netherlands at the end of the 16th century. They were mould-blown also for the court held by Duke Charles of Sweden in Nyk├╢ping.
