Softy (ver 1.05) is a truetype (*.ttf) and *.fon font editor.
Originally, it was written to create a Music font, but it can also be
useful for creating any other truetype or bitmap font. It can both modify
an existing font and create one from scratch - has all the basic tools
necessary for this. Among them glyph and contour copying/mapping, inserting
points to curves, changing straight lines to curves etc.
As far as I know, it is currently (June '97) the only shareware truetype editor,
and it doesn't compare badly to several high-end and high-cost commercial ones.
It won't do hinting, but also not all commercial ones support this.
One word of warning: this version may still be a bit buggy, so saving your work
frequently is recommended.
