  17. Make sure you have at least 2Mb of EMS memory available for this game before 
  18. you run the program.  To make EMS available to dos programs you need a line 
  19. similar to the following, in your config.sys file - 'DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 
  20. 2048'. The game can be run under Win95 without setting up the EMM manager.
  21. Win95 may affect the performance of the game slightly.

  23. SOUND - Run setup.exe to configure your sound card.
  24. If the sound effects play, but not the music then you may need to free up
  25. more low memory.

  28. HOW TO PLAY
  29.  
  30.   Type 'rs' and press enter to run the program. If a compatible joystick is
  31. detected the program will get you to calibrate it. Press escape to skip this
  32. if you do not want to use a joystick.
  33.   If you get any error messages stating that a file can not be found, make
  34. sure all program files are in the same directory and that you run the game
  35. from within that directory.
  36.   From the title screen you can start a new game, change options, view high
  37. scores or quit.  The options menu allows you to redefine the keys, select
  38. the type of joystick you are using (default=analogue), and turn the music on
  39. or off.
  40.   The aim of the game is to clear each level of asteroids and also any UFOs
  41. that may appear.  Each asteroid type takes a different number of hits to
  42. destroy them and likewise with UFOs.  The number of targets left to destroy
  43. on the current level is shown at the bottom right of the screen.  Also
  44. along the bottom is your current score, a damage bar, indicating how much
  45. more damage you ship will take before you lose one of three lives, and a
  46. short range radar showing objects around you (you are at the centre of the
  47. cross). Six increasingly difficult levels must be completed to win the game.

  51. C: Thrust forward
  52. Spacebar: Fire

  55. Turn - push joystick left or right
  56. Fire - press or hold button 1

  60. F1: default 3d view
  61. F2: top-down view
