The current prime contract for the design and build of the first three Astute Class submarines includes a requirement for BAE SYSTEMS to provide whole boat in-service support, known as Contract Logistic Support (CLS) for '8 boat years'. With the submarines entering service progressively from 2005, this CLS period will run until the end of 2009.
The Bases and Dockyards Group has over 20 years experience in the design procurement, construction testing and commissioning of nuclear related support facilities for submarines and conventional services for surface ships. This depth of knowledge and the expertise gained is second to none and encompasses the lessons learned during the Trident Development at Faslane, to the latest philosophies adopted for the new build at Devonport for the Trident Refit Facilities.
