  12. recipe filers for us. If it's shit, we don't send it out. Period.
  13.  This is Winzip v6.3.. If you don't know what this is, you've been sleeping under
  14. a rock for the past 4 years! o13 released a "final" version, that was really a
  15. beta, and was rightfully nuked.
  16.  I also included the MS Internet Explorer plugin for you to use :)
  17.  Read on for the new features you'll find in WinZip 6.3 and the reg info:
  18.  What's New in WinZip 6.3
  19.  WinZip 6.3 features an updated zip/unzip engine with automatic built-in
  20. disk spanning support for multi-disk Zip files. If you create a Zip file
  21. on diskettes and the first diskette fills, then disk spanning is
  22. automatically activated, and you are simply prompted to put in a new
  23. diskette to continue the archive. There is no need to specify that you
  24. want to use disk spanning before creating the Zip file.
  25.  Interface to WinZip Internet Browser Support Add-On
  26.  WinZip 6.3 interfaces to the free Internet Browser Support Add-On, which
  27. allows users to download and open archives from the Internet with one
  28. click via Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. There is
  29. no need to "Save to disk" and then switch to WinZip or to the Windows
  30. Explorer or File Manager to open the downloaded file. In addition, all
  31. files that have been downloaded are automatically copied from the Internet
  32. Browser's temporary folders to a folder of the user's choice; this ensures
  33. that a permanent copy of the download is saved on the user's system, even
  34. if the downloaded file is automatically deleted by the browser.
  35.  Windows 95 & NT Explorer context (right-click) menus enhancements
  36.  New "Add to <filename.zip>" entry to easily compress files in place.
  37. New "Extract to folder <filename>" makes it easy to unzip in place.
  38. New "Create Self-Extractor" entry makes self-extracting Zip files.
  39. WinZip context menus have an optional icon for easier identification.
  40. WinZip context menus can be placed in a sub-menu.
  41.  Other features in the new zip/unzip engine
  42.  Empty folders are restored when unzipping.
  43. Empty folders are stored when zipping (however, they are not listed in the
  44. main WinZip window for cosmetic reasons).
  45. Empty folders are removed after a successful "Move" zip operation.
  46. Attributes are automatically restored while unzipping.
  47. Attribute support for Zip files in the Add and Drop dialog boxes:
  48. Include files only if archive attribute is set.
  49. Reset archive attribute after adding files.
  50. Include system and hidden files.
  51. Option to "Skip Older Files" while extracting.

  53.  WinZip includes a work-around for a bug in DCOM95 and some pre-release
  54. versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 that results in a "Path too
  55. long" message when using the Extract dialog box under Windows 95.
  56.  WinZip no longer includes an option to run the MS-DOS PKZIP 2.04g (WinZip
  57. has not needed PKZIP/PKUNZIP to perform basic zipping and unzipping
  58. operations for the past several releases, but some users have assumed from
  59. the presence of this option that WinZip is only a shell for PKZIP/PKUNZIP,
  60. and required these programs for basic operations).
  61. The Add and Drop dialog boxes include a Password button as an alternative
  62. to the Options->Password dialog box.
  63.  Improvements to "View Last Output" dialog box: RichEdit control used under
  64. Windows 95 and NT for higher capacity. View Last Output results improved while
  65. testing Zip files: OK appears after each line. Summary line appears at the end
  66. of the listing. The WinZip Wizard now handles password protected files. WinZip
  67. handles certain invalid zips more gracefully.
