This file is an example of how YOU can create
context sensitive help thru PowerMenu.
Your file, HELP.MEN, must be an ASCII file with less
than 400 lines of 54 column text.
When the user hits [Shift-function key], PowerMenu
will look for a KEYWORD in this file consisting of
an asterisk (*) followed by the upper-case name of
the corresponding menu selection. The help text
that you have written will appear on the screen, and
the user can scroll up and down from there.
Furthermore, if the '?' key is hit, PowerMenu will
look for the key word *USER_HELP, and position the
help file there. Look at the following example, and
you'll see what we mean.
-This is general user-defined system help, actuated
the '?' key.
*USER_HELP
Denver-Carrington Computer Network
(Sample User Help File)
You are logged in on Denver-Carrington Oil Company's
computer system.
From this machine, you can access word processors,
telecommunications, intra-office mail, and many
other functions pertaining to this business.
This system has been set up with the revolutionary
PowerMenu operating environment, so it is one of the
easiest to use. While making it easier, PowerMenu
can also restrict access to certain sensitive areas
of the company.
We don't want Alexis, Adam, or Sammy Jo to be able
to use these machines, so most of our programs are
password protected.
-This help will come up whenever the user hits
[Shift-F1]
*WORD PROCESSING SYSTEM
Denver-Carrington Word Processing System
Use this function to type up all of Blake's letters,
business agreements, and any other litigious matters.
The manual for the Word Processor can be found in
the rosewood bookshelf, right beside the gold bookends.
You'll get most of the information you need from this.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
