FAN Registration Process
FAN is probably one of the most easy programs to register. Once you
configure the enclosed FAN.CFG configuration file, simply run the
program REGISTER. This program will read your configuration file and
generate a netmail message which will be addressed to FAN on my
system. My system will then read this message and automatically reply
to you with your registration key.
It's that simple!
No forms, no long wait, no hassles.
Once you receive your registration key, please do two things right
away:
1. Change your FAN configuration to use your personalized
registration key by altering the RegistrationKey statement,
and
2. Send the small amount of $15.00 for my efforts. FAN is
Shareware. Monetary contributions will help ensure
continued work on FAN.
When I receive your payment, I will crash send your system a
new key. This key will change your PID/Tearline to read
"Reg+" instead of simply "Reg".
If I cannot send your system the new key directly (I can
only send to systems listed in the FidoNet, ibmNET, or
OS2NET nodelist), I will put the message on hold. Please
give me a few days to process your check/money and then poll
my system for the new key.
Once you have a registration key, changing the PrimaryAddress,
SystemName, or SysopName will invalidate that key. You will have to
run REGISTER again with the new information to obtain a new
registration key.
When you are registered, your ^aPID kludge line (if enabled) will read
x.xx Reg (or Reg+ for contributors) instead of x.xx EVALUATION.
Please register FAN!
Send monetary contributions of US$15 or more to:
Dave Fisher
5131 East 88th Court
Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137
USA
If paying by foreign currency, an additional 10% surcharge must be
enclosed to cover currency exchange.
Your contribution is appreciated and plays an important role in
ongoing shareware development.
The most recent FAN release is always available from 1:170/110 with
the magic File Request name of "FAN" (without the quotes).
Un-Registering FAN
If you find you are no longer using FAN and wish to be removed from
the beta distribution list, simply run the REGISTER program again.
When you see the following prompt:
C=Cancel key (no longer using FAN), R=Register FAN :
Enter 'C' to cancel. A message will be sent to my system and you will
automatically be removed from the beta distribution list.
