CONFIGURE OPTIONS
The configure option allows you to modify several
features of the program.
From the main menu, press {6}, or move the lightbar to
Configure and press {ENTER} to access the configure screen.
To select any of the configure options, move the lightbar to
that option and press {ENTER}.
The seven options are:
1. Color/Monocrome
This option is set to "autodetect" which automatically
selects "color" if you are using a color monitor, or
"monochrome" if you are using a monochrome monitor.
You may select "monochrome" with a color monitor by moving
the lightbar to this option and pressing {ENTER}.
2. Sound "on" or "off"
The program gives an audio indication when a search is
successful. You may turn this sound on or off by moving the
lightbar to this option and pressing {ENTER}.
3. "Clear" or "Don't Clear" Strategy
You may elect to save your search criteria such as a
word, phrase or year by setting this option on
"Don't Clear."
The option is pre-set to "Clear" your previous strategy
after each search and you may reset it to "DON'T CLEAR" by
moving the lightbar to this option and pressing {ENTER}.
4. Find both selected Titles and Strategy
This option allows you to choose whether to find all
occurrences of titles, words etc. , even when the search
criteria you select are inconsistent. If this option is
set to "Find BOTH Selected Titles and Strategy", and you
were to choose the works of an author, and at the same
time select an Era or Age from the STRATEGY menu, you will
see both author's works and works from the chosen Era or
Age. However, if this option is set to "Find ONLY Selected
Titles that match Strategy" as your search criteria, you
will find no titles if the author and the Age or Era are
mutually exclusive. (as, for example, Shakespeare, and The
Roman Empire would be.)
5. Display line and paragraph numbers
This option allows you to choose whether you wish to have
a reference number appear on screen when you are in a
work. These numbers refer to lines in verse works and
paragraphs in prose works. If you choose to display line and
paragraph numbers, a count will appear on the right hand
side of your screen. If you choose to suppress the display
of line and paragraph numbers, you will still be able to
activate it by pressing {F5} when you are in a work.
6. Bookmark Path
This option allows you to specify the drive and directory
you wish to store your bookmark information. If you do not
specify a desired drive and directory, it will automatically
be stored in the local directory on which your program has
been installed.
If you choose to specify a drive and directory of your
own, type in the drive, colon(:), backslash(\) and the path.
For example, if you want the files to be placed on your C
drive in a directory named MARKS, you would type in C:\MARKS
(This directory must previously exist, as the program will
not create it).
The destination you have chosen will appear in the configure
menu next to the Bookmark selection, to serve as a
reminder to you.
If you create bookmarks in the local directory, and then
decide to change the location of the files, your previous
bookmarks will not be transferred to the new file. You
will need to re-input these bookmarks in the new file. For
instructions on how to activate the bookmark and notepad
features from a work, please see the instructions later in
this manual.
7. Text Color
This option allows you to adjust the text and background
color
combinations.
Move the lightbar to this option and press {ENTER}. A list
of color combinations will appear. Move the lightbar to
the combination you wish and press {ENTER}.
The new color is now selected and will remain until you
change it again.
