  66. IEDIT, I have registered 2 copies. So far I consider this the
  67. best of all and I like the fact that it is MS-DOS software.
  68. It's an amazing Program, but the non-registered version has too
  69. many RRS (Registration Reminder Screens), and it is difficult to
  70. really evaluate it.

  72. ICON2 is not bad at all, I would consider registering it if I
  73. found more features in a new version (like circle drawing for
  74. example).
  75.  
  76. ICONDRAW has the BIG disadvantage of not supporting command line
  77. features, but I am sure that Philip B. Eskelin have already fix this
  78. stupid bug. I have decided to register one copy in order to evaluate
  79. the upcoming version 2.0 announced in the documentation with interesting
  80. new features. I will add my comment to this document when I will receive
  81. this new version 2.0.

  83. IKE is identical to ICONDRAW expect that this program has the
  84. advantage of supporting command line options. There is one
  85. interesting feature in IKE and ICONDRAW not found in IEDIT and
  86. ICON2: the drawing of circles and ellipses. But I am sure that
  87. James Bell (IEDIT) and Jason Lacombe (ICON2) will add this to
  88. their new versions.

  94. IEDIT has the most sophisticated image management techniques I
  95. have found thus far in an icon drawing program. The built it
  96. routines to create a mirror image, rotate, flip, etc. make this
  97. program a standout. If the author were to add circle/ellipse
  98. drawing capabilities, it would surely be an INCREDIBLE program.

  100. ICONDRAW, while having the advantage of working in the Windows
  101. environment for the do or die Windows user, does not support
  102. command line file loading and is too unforgiving in terms of
  103. requiring very precise control with the mouse which dictates
  104. working at slow speeds.

  106. IKE, which also works within the Windows environment, I find to
  107. be superior to ICONDRAW, both in terms of supplying command line
  108. support and supplying more manageable mouse drawing control.
  109.  
  110. ICON2, while having the MS DOS interface, does not support
  111. circle or ellipse drawing modes. This program, with more
  112. development, has the potential to be a very good one, but at
  113. the moment does not offer enough advanced features to make it
  114. one of my favorites.

  120. If you are using these icon editor programs, you must not forget to
  121. register your version with the author (Listico program too!).
  122.  
  123. Gateway Software, Inc. DOES NOT either distribute or support any
  124. of the above Icon Editor Software programs. Philippe Rabergeau have
  125. started to develop an Icon Editor but considering all the software
  126. available now, he is not sure that he will continue to work on it.
  127. Let us know if you are not satisfied with these existing Icon Editor
  128. programs. For more information about these programs, contact the
  129. respective authors directly.
