  1. Dear Windows User:

  3. Thank you for evaluating ClipBook (formerly known as Scrap Book). 
  4. To install the Demo version of ClipBook and ToolBook on your system 
  5. please do the following. Make a backup copy of your ClipBook distribution 
  6. disks. Copy ALL the files and archives to one directory on your hard disk. 
  7. Next navigate to this directory and the DOS prompt. Type install next 
  8. and follow the instructions. Please DO NOT run pkunzip.exe on any of 
  9. the bundled archives. You may also perform this install from a DOS 
  10. session under Windows 3.0. CTRL BREAK will abort the installation. 
  11. Please note that this installation does not modify your autoexec.bat or 
  12. config.sys files. It does require that Windows 3.0 be properly installed. 
  13. The install will make a backup copy of your win.ini file called win.pp 
  14. before it makes any changes to your win.ini. If you already have ToolBook 
  15. properly installed (Runtime or Developers) on your system no changes 
  16. will be made to your win.ini but win.pp will be created as a safety 
  17. measure. Seven files will be installed on your hard disk requiring about 
  18. 1.2 MB of free disk space. These seven files are: 
  19.  
  20. o  TBOOK.EXE (The runtime version of ToolBook) 
  21. o  CLIPBOOK.TBK (ClipBook Demo) 
  22. o  TBKOPEN.dll (These five dll files are used by  ClipBook) 
  23. o  TBKWIN.dll             
  24. o  TBKUTIL.dll 
  25. o  TBKBASE.dll 
  26. o  TBKCOMP.dll

  28. All of these seven files must be in the same directory for proper 
  29. operation of ClipBook.  At the conclusion of this installation you may 
  30. launch Windows and double click on ClipBook.tbk or if your install was 
  31. conducted in a DOS session under Windows 3 you may close down 
  32. this DOS session and then double click on ClipBook.tbk. In the later 
  33. case it is not necessary to exit Windows to run ClipBook.tbk. If you 
  34. need help with ClipBook click on the ? button. If you want to order 
  35. ClipBook click on the Order button.

  37. ToolBook developers may install the 7 enclosed files in a temporary 
  38. directory and then copy them over on an as need basis. You may also 
  39. wish to contact us regarding the licensing of this installation program.

  41. One of everything works in this Demo. Calculator, PageMaker, and 
  42. Custom 1 work from their respective menus. About 2MB of extended 
  43. memory is required to run ClipBook in color. Please review the 
  44. enclosed .txt files for further information.
