  1. Welcome to the Kermit test directory.
  2. This directory contains as-yet-unreleased versions of Kermit software.
  3. Get the NEWS file for recent news.
  4.  
  5.   C-Kermit 7.0 entered Beta test on 28 December 1998.
  6.   C-Kermit tar and zip archives are in the tar subdirectory.
  7.  
  8.   Individual text files are in the text subdirectory.  Transfer these
  9.   files in text (ASCII) mode.  These include source code,
  10.   documentation, command files, makefiles, etc.

  12.   MS-DOS Kermit 3.16 Beta is in the bin subdirectory as msk316.zip.
  13.  
  14.   Dialing scripts for use with MS-DOS Kermit 3.15 Beta are in the
  15.   modems subdirectory.
  16.  
  17.   Macintosh files are in the macintosh subdirectory.  Transfer these
  18.   files in text mode.
  19.  
  20.   Individual binaries are in the bin subdirectory.  Transfer them
  21.   in binary mode.
  22.  
  23.   A new version of Kermit for PDP-11s running the RT-11, TSX+, and
  24.   RSTS/E operating systems (but not RSX-11 or IAS) is in the pdp11
  25.   subdirectory.  Transfer all files in text mode.  The binary task
  26.   file for RSTS/E is in the bin subdirectory of the pdp11 directory;
  27.   transfer it in binary mode.
