Subject: KERMIT for Data General AOS
To: Info-Kermit@CUCS20
An implementation of KERMIT for Data General machines running AOS has been
contributed by John Lee of RCA Labs, Princeton, New Jersey. It is written in
Ratfor, and is essentially a translation of the Unix implementation -- a basic
"no frills" KERMIT that runs in both remote and local mode, and can communicate
with IBM mainframes as well as ordinary full-duplex ASCII systems. In glancing
through the code, I also noticed hooks for running under RDOS.
The files are in KER:AOS*.* available via anonymous FTP from host COLUMBIA-20
(ARPANET) or NFT from CU20B (CCNET). Thanks to Glenn Everhart of RCA GSD, who
is also the DECUS RSX SIG Tape coordinator, for unearthing this version, doing
the tape conversion, and sending it in.
