  1. If you would like to help us at id make Doom v1.2 more stable for
  2. more sound cards, please download this test program, especially if
  3. you have a computer which does not work with Doom v1.1.  The program
  4. contains our Doom v1.2 sound library, and this will tell us if it
  5. works better with sound effects cards.  Improvements (should)
  6. include the ability to use IRQ 2, the PAS-16, and SB-compatible
  7. cards using the ES488 chip.

  9. The file testv12.zip is a small package which contains a program
  10. called playwav.exe, dos4gw.exe, and three *.dsp files.  Just unzip
  11. it into some temporary directory and run "playwav".  It will ask
  12. you if you want to autodetect.  Hit "y".  It should give you a
  13. short menu of sounds to play: the drum, the racecar, and the "testing
  14. 1-2-3" sound.  Hitting the keys 1-3 will play the appropriate sound
  15. and mix it in if there's another sound playing.
