  1. DOOM Cheat Patch v1.1 :)

  3. Here is the ultimate cheat for any DOOM level, but made especially for
  4. Nightmare! 
  5. To use the HACK.EXE and the patch file, issue this command at the
  6. prompt : HACK PATCH.REG DOOM.EXE (for registered version)
  7.      or  HACK PATCH.SW DOOM.EXE  (for shareware version)

  9. I have put what each entry in the patch file is supposed to do. They are
  10. pretty self-explanatory. However, feel free to email me if you want details
  11. on those entries.

  13. You can use your own favorite editor to modify the DOOM.EXE if you
  14. don't want to use the HACK.EXE. The first column (e.g. 055A71) signifies
  15. the offset to place the second column hex number. 
  16. For example, the first modification is "055A71 FF", which means modify
  17. the byte at offset 55A71 to FF.

  19. By the way, backup your DOOM.EXE before applying the patch so that you have
  20. something to revert back to when you want to play honestly :)

  22. NOTE 1: I figured out the codes for the Invulnerability Mode, but then
  23.     it does not make much sense to me because it would just be like
  24.     another save game editor. This way, you get to actually 'play 
  25.     honestly',i.e. you are actually hurt when shot, just very difficult
  26.     to be killed. If you want more challenge, lower the max health 
  27.     percentage.
  28. NOTE 2: I couldn't figure out how to convert the offset for use with 
  29.     DEBUG.EXE.
  30. NOTE 3: The HACK.EXE program is not written by me. It was originally
  31.     distributed as the DOOM save game editor and has since been used
  32.     by me for general patching purposes (like this one). It's a very
  33.     useful program.
  34. NOTE 4: If you are thinking of using this to cheat in the modem game, think
  35.     again! I have tried it and it doesn't work UNLESS both sides are
  36.     applying the SAME patch. Applying the same patch will avoid
  37.     consistency errors.
