  3. {.C15}This game is designed to improve spelling while having fun.
  4. According to our studies to other educational software
  5. packages, we found that users do not learn as much as they
  6. expect because of the distraction of so much graphics and
  7. many moving object on the screen.  We designed the screen
  8. and graphics to help increase your concentration to be able
  9. to learn the words faster.

  39.     - Allows up to 26 topics in the Catalog List instead of
  40.       just 3 topics.
  41.     - Allow up to 1,000 words in each topic instead of just
  42.       150.
  43.     - Has the capability to delete unwanted topics from the
  44.       Catalog List.
  45.     - Has the capability to delete unwanted words from a
  46.       selected topic.
  47.     - Allows you to copy words from one topic to another.
  48.   . Will receive a complete manual on how to use the game,
  49.     and different techniques on how to use text editors to
  50.     increase the power of the game.  And how to restore
  51.     deleted topics.

  55. {.C14}Main Menu
  56. {.C15}The Main Menu has five options, and they are as follows:
  57. {.C14}   1. Select Topic and Play
  58. {.C15}   This option will display the different topics that exists
  59.    in the Catalog List and then you select one of the topics.
  60.    Once topic is selected, the game will start.

  62. {.C14}   2. Add a New Topic
  63. {.C15}   This option will allow you to add a new topic title to the
  64.    Catalog List.  A file will be created. You do not have to
  65.    worry about the file name the program will create the name
  66.    automatically for you.
  67.    Note: In order to be able to use the new topic, you have
  68.          to enter words into it.

  70. {.C14}   3. Update Topic
  71. {.C15}   This option allows you to add, edit, and delete words from
  72.    a topic.  When this option is selected, the Catalog List
  73.    will be displayed to select the topic to be updated.

  75. {.C14}   4. Delete Topic
  76. {.C15}   This option allows you to delete topics from the Catalog
  77.    List.  When the option is selected, the Catalog List will
  78.    be displayed for you to select the topic to be deleted.
  79.    After you select a topic, the computer will ask you to
  80.    confirm deletion of the topic.  Type (Y) if you still
  81.    wants to delete the topic, or (N) if you change your mind.
  82.    Note: The topic title will be deleted for the Catalog
  83.    List, but the actual file will not, so you can use it
  84.    again if needed. (Techniques on how to use deleted files
  85.    will be sent to you after registration).

  89.    options from other menus.

  95. {..H2}HELP ON- SELECT TOPIC AND PLAY
  96. {.C15}This submenu has four options that allow you to play the
  97. game, toggle sound On/Off, get on screen help, and quit the
  98. submenu and go back to the main menu.  The four option are as
  99. follows:

  102. {.C15}  This option starts the game.

  104. {.C14}  Screen Set Up
  105. {.C15}    Before we tell you how to play the game, you may need to
  106.   know about the screen set up.  At the top middle area of
  107.   the screen, you will see a man and to the left of him there
  108.   is a hanger.  At the lower left of the screen, you will see
  109.   the letters of the Alphabet that you may use to guess the
  110.   spelling of the word.  To the right you will see your
  111. {.C15}  score.

  113. {.C14}  How to Play
  114. {.C15}    The computer will pick a word in random from the
  115.   selected topic.  Toward the lower middle left of the
  116.   screen, dashes will be displayed with the same number as
  117.   the number of letters in the word.  To the right, a message
  118.   will displayed to tell you how many letters in the word.
  119.   You start by guessing letters.  Every letter that is
  120.   guessed, will drop from the Alphabet group to the guessed
  121.   letters group.  If you press a letter that you selected
  122.   before the computer will display a message.  If you guess a
  123.   wrong letter the hanger will move closer to the man. You
  124.   will have seven chances to find out the word.

  138. {.C15}  This option allows you to toggle sound On/Off.  When option
  139.   is selected, the sound status will show on the top of the
  140.   screen. The sound is ON by default when you first get in
  141. {.C15}  the program.

  145. {..H3}Help On - UPDATE TOPIC
  146. {.C15}The update topic menu allows you to change words in a topic
  147. by adding, editing, or deleting words from the selected
  148. topic.  This submenu contains eight options in it and they
  149. are as follows:

  153. {.C15}  This option allow you to add words to a selected topic.
  154.   Remember that you can have up to 1,000 words in every topic
  155.   when you register for the game instead of only 150. That is
  156.   up to 26,000 words for 26 topics.  The following is the
  157.   word editing function, they are active in Add, Edit mode.
